Like most people who work in this business, it starts with a love for animals, and Joanne is no different. She has worked for over 30 years in the veterinary industry. We asked Joanne what she actually does in her position. Here is what she said:
“I like to say I play with puppies and kittens all day. But the reality is puppies and kittens are just a small part of the day. Managing a high quality, busy atmosphere takes a lot of energy and a great staff. I have the energy, and couldn’t ask for a better staff. Working with wonderful, dedicated individuals makes the problems of healing and caring much easier to do. I am involved in all aspects of the clinic, from administrative, personnel, inventory management, animal welfare and care, medical protocols, customer service and whatever else it takes to run a small hospital.”
Outside of work, Joanne spends her time with her husband Dale, and her beloved “chichi” named Maverick. She is also the proud parent of a UCONN student, Alex. She enjoys her weekends and summer vacations on the beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee.
