On this page you’ll find important policies that we follow here at South Windsor Veterinary Clinic. As you scroll down the page you find the following policies, please read and understand them. Don’t hesitate to contact us for clarification on any of our policies or if there’s a subject you don’t see covered below.
- Payment Policy
- Appointment Policy
- Patient Arrival Policy
- Rabies Vaccination Policy
- Annual Physical Exam Policy
We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, cash and personal checks. We also offer CareCredit, a card that has no interest charges for up to 18 months!
There is a missed appointment fee of $20 that will be applied to your account if you don’t call to cancel within 24 hours PRIOR to the appointment.
Please note that while we accept personal checks, we do have some restrictions:
- We submit all checks to TeleCheck for approval prior to acceptance (this is just like getting a credit card transaction approved).
- There is a $25 fee for any returned, bounced, checks.
- Returned checks, along with the returned check fee, may be electronically presented to your bank for collection.
Walk-in clients are accepted, however appointments are strongly preferred. Emergency cases during business hours shall always receive top priority followed by patients with previously scheduled appointments.
For emergencies after hours, please see our FOR EMERGENCIES page for the phone numbers, addresses and directions to the clinics with which we have arrangements for emergency coverage.
Patient Arrival Policy
For your protection, and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms.
All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash.
We try to avoid double booking and your prompt arrival in time for your scheduled appointment will help minimize the waiting time for all clients.
Drop off for surgeries is between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. the morning of the scheduled operation.
Rabies Vaccination Policy
The State of Connecticut requires that all companion animals be vaccinated against the Rabies virus annually. This practice firmly agrees with this policy and therefore we require that all patients we see have a documented, current vaccination.
Annual Physical Exam Policy
It is the opinion of Dr. Rose and this practice that an annual physical exam is an inexpensive means of maintaining your animal’s health and hopefully avoiding the expenses of diagnosing and caring for an ill patient. South Windsor Veterinary Clinic therefore requires all on-going or regular clients have an annual physical exam.
